History

In august 2003 Transfans: Project Regeneration was born. Originally spawned off of an earlier aborted attempt to modernize the Transfans.com message board, and an update of Best First's Operation Volcano website, this new project’s goal was far larger. Namely, a complete overhaul of the entire Transfans website from the ground up. New main page, new content, new message board and a new URL.

All this based off the one resource we had, volunteers.

Everything you see here has been done by Transfans members. All the reviews, site design and board modifications have been accomplished by people giving up their free time to make the best product possible for not only their enjoyment, but for the entire fandom. We put our efforts into making one of the most comprehensive and detailed Transformers databases available on the internet. Of course it isn’t fully complete yet; however, we have no inclination of slowing down now that the site is open to the public. Check back often as we will constantly be adding new content to the site.

Everyone has done an amazing job on Transfans.net, but some special thanks have to go out for the grand opening of Transfans.net.

Firstly, TFArchive deserves a round of applause for so graciously offering his assistance in provided webspace for us. Transfans and The TF Archive have often helped each other in the past, but this was a whole new level of assistance for which we are truly grateful.

Next, Strafefox, the designer and programmer of the site design you see before you is just as deserving of our special thanks. The man single-handedly brought to life a site beyond our wildest dreams. We can not thank him enough.

Every project of this magnitude needs a leader, and we were fortunate to have someone like Paul (Best First) aid us in that regard. He was the driving force behind organizing Project Regeneration, setting goals, assignments and keeping us on track. His unceasing drive for excellence brought many a long night for the volunteers, but it was worth every moment.

Of course what good would a site be without someone to make sure our content was top-notch? Dave, (Spiderfrommars), was a one-man editing machine, going over each piece of submitted content and making sure it was perfect. Often his changes, additions and corrections could equal the length of the original review that was submitted! Again, we were profoundly lucky to have him on the team.

Next up for applause is Mark, (Impactor Returns). The sigs you see the staff using, along with the wallpapers in the downloads section are all the work of this genius. Make no mistake, his ability to take our most general of requests and transform it into breathtaking 3-D artwork is phenomenal.

We'd also like to thank Omega Supreme for creating Transfans.com and the original message board that brought us all together in the first place.

There are of course many others who contributed to this effort. Rebis, bobaprime85, Ikijigoku, Hound, Pretender Bumblebee, Master_Fwiffo, and many more. Without everyone, this project could never have gotten off the ground.

Finally, we'd like to thank all our significant others who've had to put up with our hobby and shenanigans while this project has been under development.

So again, I say thank you to everyone who helped us, and for those who have been waiting for Transfans.net to go live, I say now that your wait is over. In addition all this is just in time for the 20th anniversary of the Transformers phenomenon.

Enjoy the site!
